The Panecillo is crowned at the moment by a giant sculpture of aluminum of the "Virgin of Quito", created in 1975 by the Spanish Agustín de la Herran Matorras, which was based on the Virgin of Legarda or Apocalíptica; An eighteenth-century work by Bernardo de Legarda, one of the most important representatives of the Quito School, which can be seen on the main altar of the Church of San Francisco.

My visit to Virgen de Panecillo: By Fernando Aranza - Puebla Mexico. @ferraranza.
I really liked the view offered by the place, because you can appreciate the architecture of the city of Quito, the nature around the virgin. Once you get to the bagel virgin you can also visit the local Ecuadorian restaurants there , it´s very good. I really enjoyed going up to Panecillo because it is very cool.
I arrived with some friends to the historic center using the ecovia, it's like a train that is in the city of Quito that takes you everywhere, when I get to the center my friends and I started walking up to Panecillo, we just climbed a little over the Half walking because we were tired, and then decided to take a bus (25 cents) which took us to the site.
